The Department of Environmental Protection announced it will hold a virtual hearing November 9 starting at 6:30 p.m. on the proposed cleanup plan for the Bishop Tube Hazardous Waste Site in East Whiteland Township, Chester County (PA Bulletin page 6212).
The Site consists of areas of TCE groundwater, soil, and surface water contamination. The sources of the contaminated groundwater and surface water and areas of contaminated soil are located on the 13.7-acre former Bishop Tube property.
Contamination at the site is being addressed under the state Hazardous Sites Cleanup Act and paid for from the Hazardous Sites Cleanup Fund which is running out of money. Read more here.
