Stroud Water Research Center, Rodale Institute Host Soil Health Field Day Aug. 25 In Chester County

The
Stroud Water Research Center and Rodale Institute will host a Soil Health Field Day on August 25 at Natural Lands’ Stroud Preserve in West Center, Chester County from 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

The event will feature soil health and water quality research as part of a six-year project comparing organic, conventional, and conservation farming systems.

Scientists from Stroud and Rodale will discuss and demonstrate various measurements and instruments in-field, below ground, and in-stream. 

They will also discuss organic versus conventional farming issues, as well as the restoration of streamside forest buffers.

Dress for the weather. Some walking will be required, although some participants can ride in a provided vehicle.
