Whether you’ve witnessed their frequent-flyer Bald Eagles soaring over the mountain, a beautiful Sycamore tree hanging over the Wiconisco Creek, or the springtime Mountain Azalea blooming along the trails, the Ned Smith Center wants to see the natural scenes that you love!
All photographs submitted for the contest must have been taken on Ned Smith Center lands and within one calendar year of the entry deadline: between the dates of September 15th, 2020 and September 15th, 2021.
During the contest, two rounds of judging will take place. Contestants who are selected to advance from the first round of judging will be asked to bring a ready-to-hang print of their entries to hang in a juried exhibit in the Ned Smith Center’s Romberger Gallery, which will be on display from November 15th, 2021 to January 8th, 2022.
Contestants will have an opportunity to post their entries for sale, and a reception and awards ceremony will be held for those making it to the second round’s juried exhibit.
The second round of judging will determine the winners of the competition, with cash prizes going to First Place ($100), Second Place ($75), and Third Place ($50) entries.
If you are interested in participating in this year’s photo contest, the Ned Smith Center’s lands are open to the public 24/7. Photo entries will be accepted digitally for a one-month period, beginning August 15th, 2021 with a deadline of September 15th, 2021.
Anyone interested in entering the contest should visit the Ned Smith Center for Nature and Art’s Photography Contest webpage.
