What's on the Horizon: WHY to Z - June 29 & 30
Understanding the dynamics of Gen Z'ers gives you a better opportunity for the retention of staff members from this generation. However, the bigger challenge might be just getting them in the door to apply for the job.
What is their WHY of the work and why should it matter to you? We will discuss the importance of highlighting the passion and purpose of the work and why this helps retain this new generation of workers.
Through What's on the Horizon: Everything from WHY to Z participants will learn the similarities and differences between the Gen Y – Millennials and the up and coming Gen Z generations.
We will better understand how today’s young adults, teens, and youth think and behave in order to benefit your organization. You’ll learn how to create an environment of cooperation and open-mindedness that will help you communicate across these unique and powerful groups.
The speaker for this program is Lori Hoffner - Professional Speaker, Trainer, and Consultant, Supporting CommUnity, Inc.
The program will be held from Noon to 1:30 p.m. on June 29 and 30 and eligible for .1 CEU.

Park & Recreational Professionals Day July 16
The PA Recreation and Park Society, and Good for You, Good for All are celebrating all the park and recreation professionals that keep Pennsylvania's parks accessible, clean, and beautiful for its third year in a row!
As a tribute to your local parks & recreation providers, make a plan to visit a local park or recreation facility on July 16 or around that date. Take the time to meet and say thanks to a programmer, manager, maintainer, landscaper, facilitator, lifeguard, coach, event organizer, or caretaker.
If you are interested in learning more about how you can get involved and spread the word, check out the Park and Recreation Professionals Toolkit.
Directors & Supervisors Roundtable Aug. 4 - Oct. 13
Parks and Recreation Managers need many different skills, including programming, finance, operations, supervision, human resources, and leadership. That’s a lot to be on top of.
Professional development helps but what about the everyday issues you face? How do you handle uncooperative employees, a stingy council, program snafus, or a critical community issue? Wouldn’t it be good to talk with others in similar positions and learn from them?
The Directors and Supervisors Roundtable is specifically designed for those in leadership who want to meet informally with other leaders to share ideas and challenges, network, and learn together in a supportive and confidential environment.
Each quarterly Roundtable will feature a short informative presentation on a common issue followed by a facilitated discussion with your peers on topics, pressures, and dilemmas you may be facing in your organization.
The DSR is geared specifically for those in a leadership position who need an open platform to discuss issues and brainstorm solutions.
