PA Resources Council Recycled Paper Co-op Offers Consumers 100% Recycled Paper At Significant Savings In Pittsburgh

On March 12, the
PA Resources Council Recycled Paper Cooperative – launched last spring to provide local businesses and nonprofits with recycled paper at significant savings – is currently accepting orders through April 1, for its Spring 2021 distribution.

“PRC is dedicated to building circular economies for Pennsylvania, and this program is a direct example of this commitment.  The paper sold through the Recycled Paper Coop is 100 percent recycled and 100 percent local,” according to PRC Environmental Program Coordinator Stacy Albin.  “PRC’s Paper Coop purchases large volumes of 20-pound white office paper directly from a Pennsylvania paper mill and then passes on the savings to customers interested in maximizing resources and minimizing waste.”

PRC’s Paper Coop offers 100 percent recycled content 8.5″ x 11″ white office paper (20lb basis weight and 92 brightness) at a savings of 30 percent or more compared to market prices.

Bulk orders can be purchased directly online. The minimum purchase is one carton (10 reams/carton, 500 sheets/ream) and can be picked up in Pittsburgh.

“By purchasing 100 percent recycled content paper through the coop, customers can save more than $10 per carton compared to average market prices,” said Albin.  “Those ordering online by April 1 will then pick up their paper orders on April 29 in the parking lot of PRC’s headquarters in Pittsburgh’s Northside.”

While the Paper Co-op offers a bulk discount by selling paper by the carton, throughout the year individuals can purchase 100 percent recycled content paper by the ream at Construction Junction, 214 N. Lexington St., Pittsburgh/Point Breeze.

Industry sources report that each ton of 100 percent recycled content paper purchased from the Co-op preserves 24 trees, conserves 7,000 gallons of water and supports local jobs.
