PA Solar Center To Recognize Solar Energy Leaders In Central PA On Feb. 11


The
Pennsylvania Solar Center will host the first Lodestar Awards ceremony at a virtual event on February 11 to recognize businesses, organizations, and municipalities in Central Pennsylvania with the foresight and vision to successfully go solar, as well as those who support or work in the solar industry. 

The Honorees include: BAI Group; Burkholder’s Market; Centre County Board of Commissioners; Envinity; Happy Valley Vineyard & Winery; KOA Campground; Millheim Borough Council; Organic Climbing; Owens Family Sheep Farm; and Sun Directed.

Honorees will provide a short video to showcase their solar projects, and several speakers will discuss the importance of solar energy for the economy, their local communities, and, of course, the earth.

Speakers include:

-- House Majority Leader Rep. Kerry Benninghoff (R-Mifflin)

-- Dr. Paul Shrivastava, Chief Sustainability Officer at The Penn State University;

-- Barb Christ of Happy Valley Winery; and

-- Caroline Owens of the Owens Family Farm and shepherd at the Susquehanna University solar field.

The PA Solar Center will be recognizing clean energy leaders in other parts of Pennsylvania in the coming months.
