The Center for Sustainability Education at Dickinson College and the Center for Land Use and Sustainability at Shippensburg University, will host the final online event in their series of community forums on Climate Action Planning on February 2 from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. for the public, community groups and agencies in the Cumberland Valley.
Changing climate has caused and will continue to cause impacts to public health, infrastructure, emergency services, and major economic contributors like agriculture, tourism, and recreation.
The forum series is covering what is already being done about changing climate, and how citizens, municipalities, schools, and related organizations should get involved to expand and accelerate efforts.
The February 2 event covers how K-12 schools, colleges and universities are demonstrating effective actions for reducing emissions of climate changing pollutants, educating their students about climate risks and solutions, and working with community partners to help make our communities climate resilient and low-carbon.
Join us to learn what the Carlisle Area School District, Shippensburg University and Dickinson College are doing to lessen climate risks.
