The Susquehanna River Basin Commission held its quarterly business meeting virtually from Harrisburg on December 11. Among its actions, the Commission:
-- Approved 9 water projects including one Commission-initiated project modification and one into-basin diversion, with two projects being tabled;
-- Adopted a regulatory fee schedule for 2021;
-- Tabled consideration of a policy incentivizing use of impaired waters;
-- Approved three grant agreements and amendments;
-- Adopted a General Permit for groundwater remediation projects; and
-- Approved one emergency certificate extension.
The voting Commissioners and alternates were: Aneca Atkinson, Chair, Deputy Secretary, Office of Water Programs, Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection; Suzanne Dorsey, Assistant Secretary, Maryland Department of the Environment; and Col. John Litz, Baltimore District Engineer, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. Matthew Marko, Director of Region 7, New York State Department of Environmental Conservation joined the meeting as an advisor.
