Allegheny County Conservation District, Partners Host Drinking Water, Wastewater Webinars Thru December


The
Allegheny County Conservation District and partners Municipal Authority of Westmoreland County and ALCOSAN are hosting a series of webinars in December on drinking water and wastewater issues.

The webinars will give attendees a look into where drinking water is sourced, how it is processed and treated, and actions for individuals and farmers to improve and protect water quality.

-- December 10: Join Alcosan For Household Waste & Wastewater Treatment starting at 6:00 p.m. Household wastes come in various forms. Waste that makes its way into the public sewer system can impact water quality and create other issues from the time the waste enters the sewer system to well after it passes through the wastewater treatment plant. This session will provide an overview of household waste disposal, the journey waste takes to the treatment plant, the wastewater treatment process and other impacts to water quality in our region.  Click Here to register.

-- December 15: Cleaner Water Begins with You starting at 6:00 p.m. join the Allegheny County Conservation District will provide an overview of helpful actions for individuals, homeowners and larger operations to protect water at the source and water down the drain.  Click Here to register.

-- In Part 1 of the series - Where Does My Water Come From & How was recorded and is now available on demand.  Learn about treatment processes and source water protection with the Municipal Authority of Westmoreland County. Hear a regional perspective about water management and the One Water approach, find sources of information to learn more and get ideas on how to help. This webinar was recorded on December 1 and is available to view for free here.
