On October 8, the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources issued its third weekly Fall Foliage Report for October 8 to 14 showing more counties at their best color.
Gorgeous color continues to abound throughout Penn’s Woods! While some northern counties have begun to fade, central forests are now stealing the show.
Awesome color can be found from northwestern Pennsylvania through the Alleghenies and central Appalachians, to the Pocono region.
Forecasted seasonable temperatures should facilitate a gradual transition of color throughout southern areas of the Commonwealth, affording fantastic viewing opportunities into late October.
The report includes specific reports from DCNR foresters in regions across the state. New reports will be issued every Thursday.
Visitors can get suggestions about the best spots to view fall foliage on the Penn’s Woods Fall Foliage story map and on the Pennsylvania Tourism Office website.
