Controlled Plant & Noxious Weed Committee Meets Oct. 22 On Adding 7 Plants To Noxious Weed List


The Department of Agriculture’s
Controlled Plant and Noxious Weed Committee is scheduled to hold a virtual meeting on October 22 to consider adding seven plants to the noxious weed list.  (formal notice)
The plants include--

-- Japanese Angelica Tree (Aralia elata) Proposed Class A or B

-- Japanese Hops (Humulus japonica) Proposed Class B

-- Common Reed (Phragmites australis spp. australis) Proposed Class B

-- Oriental Bittersweet (Celastrus orbiculatus) Proposed Class B

-- Black Swallowort (Vincetoxium nigrum syn, Cynachum louiseae) Proposed Class B

-- Pale Swallow Wort (Vincetoxium rossicum syn. Cynachum rossicum) Proposed Class B

-- Mugwort (Artemisia vulgaris) Proposed Class B

Public Comments

The Committee is accepting public comments on these listings in writing prior to the meeting.

Written comments may be sent to RA-plant@pa.gov or the Department of Agriculture, Bureau of Plant Industry Noxious Weed Program, 2301 North Cameron Street, Harrisburg, PA 17110. 

Written comments must be received by October 21, 2020, to be considered. Written comments will become a part of the record, with the same force as if presented during the meeting.
