The Eastern PA Coalition for Abandoned Reclamation and its partners have scheduled the 7th Annual Centralia Cleanup for October 17 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. in Columbia County.
“We are going back to finish what we started seven years ago! While Centralia is much better than it used to be, it still needs work and we are counting on volunteers like you to help! We will be cleaning up the center of town and Byrnesville road.
“We still have to take the necessary precautions in the Fall due to COVID-19 and social distancing, masks, and hand sanitizer will be provided if someone does not have one. We are looking into a hand washing station and an additional port-a-John as well.
“In our estimation, 50 people can have the amount of trash we’ve surveyed cleaned up in a few hours time. We will be able to spread out accordingly.
“We ask that people who do decide to volunteer are healthy and have not knowingly have come in contact with anyone who has tested positive for COVID. We can’t gather over 100 people and don’t have a need to do so for such a small amount of trash.”
