Dept. Of Health Reports 24 Additional Deaths Due To COVID-19; 991 New Cases; Live Event 1:00

On August 13, the Department of Health reported 24 additional deaths as a result of COVID-19 bringing the total number of deaths to 7,409.
As of 12:00 a.m. August 13, there were 991 additional positive cases of COVID-19, bringing the statewide total to 122,121 in all 67 counties.
Approximately 8,790 of Pennsylvania’s total positive cases are in health care workers.
Of the patients who have tested positive to date the age breakdown is as follows:
-- 1 percent are ages 0-4;
-- 1 percent are ages 5-12;
-- Nearly 4 percent are ages 13-18;
-- Nearly 10 percent are ages 19-24;
-- Nearly 38 percent are ages 25-49;
-- Nearly 23 percent are ages 50-64; and
-- Nearly 24 percent are ages 65 or older.
Most of the patients hospitalized are aged 65 or older, and most of the deaths have occurred in patients 65 or older. There have been no pediatric deaths to date. More data is available here.
In nursing and personal care homes, there are 20,244 resident cases of COVID-19, and  4,192 cases among employees, for a total of 24,436 at 888 distinct facilities in 61 counties.
