PA Resources Council Moves Eastern Office To Rose Tree Park, Delaware County

On June 5, the Pennsylvania Resources Council, the Commonwealth's oldest grassroots non-profit environmental organization, moved its eastern headquarters to Rose Tree Park in Delaware County.
PRC will base its eastern regional operations – focusing on environmental education, watershed stewardship, recycling and waste diversion programs, anti-litter campaigns and many other activities – in Leedom House, a historic structure that serves as the headquarters for Delaware County Parks & Recreation.
“PRC has called Delaware County home for decades, and we’re excited to build even stronger connections with the communities and people who have been our neighbors for so many years,” said PRC Managing Director Justin Stockdale.  “This move advances PRC’s goal of assisting people and communities to be stewards of our environment and allows us to better focus on our mission rather than the maintenance and operation of a 30-acre estate in Ridley Creek State Park.”
Since 1939, PRC has worked to protect the Commonwealth’s environmental resources for future generations and is recognized as a state and national leader in waste reduction and recycling.
From the new home in Rose Tree Park, PRC will continue to offer conservation workshops, in-school education, technical assistance to communities and other initiatives.
“Through our education programs, we empower residents, municipalities and businesses to adopt best practices on topics such as recycling/waste reduction, stormwater management and watershed protection,” said Stockdale.  “We also like to get our hands dirty alongside our community partners by building rain gardens, performing waste audits and hosting hard-to-recycle collection events.”
“Our Stream Smart Stormwater House Call program here in Delaware County has helped homeowners protect their properties and the region’s watershed,” he explained.  “We look forward to establishing a home at Leedom House, continuing our work to protect Pennsylvania’s environmental resources, and promoting our vision of a Pennsylvania where nothing is wasted.”
Contact information for the new PRC eastern headquarters is 1671 North Providence Road, Media, PA 19063, call 610-353-1555, or send email to  info@prc.org
PRC’s western headquarters is located in a historic building on Pittsburgh’s North Side at 828 West North Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15233, or call 412-488-7490.
