Joint Conservation Committee Meets June 23 On Impact Of Carbon Pollution Reduction Program On Coal Waste Power Plants

The Joint Legislative Air and Water Pollution Control and Conservation Committee is scheduled to meet on June 23 to discuss a committee report on the impact of DEP’s proposed Carbon Pollution Reduction Program covering power plants on the coal waste-fired power plants.

The Joint Committee held a series of hearings starting on February 3 on the impact of the Carbon Reduction Program on coal waste facilities.  Read more here.

On February 7, Senators John Yudichak (I-Luzerne), David Argall (R-Schuylkill) and Gene Yaw (R-Lycoming) announced their intent to introduce a resolution directing the Joint  Committee to study the potential impacts of the Program on coal waste facilities, but the resolution was not introduced.  Read more here.

The meeting will be held in Room G-50 of the Irvis Building starting at 9:00 a.m.  The meeting should be available online through the House Republican website.
