Conservation Consultants, Inc Hosts June 17 Home Energy Showcase Wrap Up

Pittsburgh-based Conservation Consultants, Inc. will host a June 17 online Home Energy Showcase Wrap Up from 4:00 to 5:30 p.m.

Join CCI as they explore home energy efficiency potential through the results of their Home Energy Showcase.

Starting last August, 54 Pittsburgh area homeowners signed up to drop pounds of carbon, reduce energy usage, and learn more about how to make their house a higher-performing, more comfortable and healthier home.

The Showcase participants who took at least one action reduced their home’s CO2 emissions by an estimated average of 1.3 tons annually. That would take about 30 mature trees growing for a full year to sequester this amount of CO2. As a cohort, that is equivalent to the climate-saving carbon contribution from 962 mature trees.

The 33 percent energy savings potential identified for these homes demonstrates the powerful impact every homeowner in our region could make by weatherizing their home.

According to data from the energy audits performed on the Showcase homes, average energy reduction potential was 509 therms of gas (or $503 savings on the bill) and 1,767 kWh (or $239/year), equal to 3.7 tons reduction in CO2.

Want to learn more about how the best of our energy makeover heroes took charge – and be inspired so that you can too?
