The Western PA Conservancy will host a May 28 online program with John Matteo describing the innovative approaches used to preserve Frank Lloyd Wright's Fallingwater home in Fayette County
Matteo, a principal engineer with 1200 Architectural Engineers, PLLC, played an integral role in the ongoing preservation of Fallingwater for over twenty years.
As part of Robert Silman's team, he helped to prevent the possible collapse of the house's cantilevers through the installation of an elegant post-tensioning solution in the early 2000s.
Since that time, Matteo has consulted on a range of preservation projects that require his structural engineering expertise.
Fallingwater, a local and international landmark, is now on the UNESCO World Heritage List.
The program will be held from Noon to 1:00 p.m. via Zoom.
