Take The Water Environment Federation Stormwater Needs Survey For MS4 Stormwater Managers

By Vincent Cotrone, Penn State Extension Urban Forester

The Water Environment Federation is conducting a stormwater survey of MS4 Managers. This survey is important to PA to communities and engineers.
The National Municipal Stormwater Alliance and the Water Environment Federation have partnered to conduct a needs assessment of stormwater infrastructure of MS4 communities.
The information from this survey will inform:
-- Initiatives and discussions with members of Congress,
-- Data needs for the new stormwater category within the ASCE Infrastructure Report Card,
-- Discussions between MS4 permittees and USEPA staff,
-- Identification and prioritization of stormwater research needs,
-- The work of the EPA Stormwater Finance Workgroup, and
-- A better understanding of the challenges for local MS4 programs and the measures to address them.
The survey is designed for MS4 program managers and consulting engineers working with communities.
It will only take 15 minutes to complete and survey participants will be entered in a drawing to win a $50 Visa gift card.
The Water Environment Federation is looking for MS4 Manager to provide their best estimates for answers to the questions:
-- If you are with an entity with an MS4 permit (city, county, watershed, DOT, non-traditional, etc.), please have one person from your organization fill out the survey.
-- If you are a consultant and a city has authorized you to complete the survey, please do so. Otherwise, please pass this information along to your clients with MS4 permits.
-- If you are with another type of entity (regulator, researcher, NGO, manufacturer, etc.) but interested in everything related to the MS4 program, please feel free to provide us with the information requested on the landing page, but do not fill out the survey.
WEF did this survey for the first time back in 2018. If you are interested, here are the results from that first survey.
