Sustainable Pittsburgh: Support Sustainable Shops, Restaurants In Western PA

Sustainable Pittsburgh this week said now more than ever, supporting small businesses where possible is essential.
Monday, they highlighted the 20 shops and restaurants of the Triboro Ecodistrict that have earned designation through Sustainable Pittsburgh’s formal performance programs
These businesses range from bronze to platinum-level designation and offer a variety of goods and services from art and apparel to specialty food and drink. They are among the more than 250 designated shops and restaurants in the region.
The development of an ecodistrict is an effort to address climate change and the effects that come with it.
Specifically, the Triboro Ecodistrict promotes sustainable community development in the Boroughs of Millvale, Etna, and Sharpsburg. These municipalities have also earned certification as Sustainable Pennsylvania Communities
In a similar vein, the Sustainable Pittsburgh Shop and Restaurant programs help our region’s small retail businesses and restaurants build vibrant communities and support environmentally responsible practices.
The programs provide recognition at four achievement levels, creating a pathway for organizations to grow, build, and demonstrate their commitments to sustainability practices.
You can help to lift up our region during this difficult time, if you’re able, by supporting the designated shops and restaurants that are still open for business.
