The Department of Environmental Protection is inviting comments on a proposed Total Maximum Daily Load Plan for Pleasant Valley Run Watershed in Bedford County (April 25 PA Bulletin page 2234)
The proposed TMDL document sets allowable loading of sediment and nutrients in the Pleasant Valley Run Watershed. The TMDLs included allocations for nonpoint sources, reserves for future point sources, as well as margin of safety factors.
Nonpoint source load allocations were made for cropland, hay/pasture land, streambank and farm animal source sectors present in the watershed.
Data used in establishing the TMDL were generated using a water quality analysis model (Model My Watershed) made available through the Stroud Water Research Center.
Comments are due May 25.
Read the entire PA Bulletin notice for all the details (page 2234).
