The PA Recreation and Parks Society has established a new Recreation and Parks COVID-19 Resources webpage to offer relevant and practical resources to help park and recreation providers best serve their constituents and communities during this unprecedented time
In addition, the National Parks and Recreation Association provides guidance on how park and recreation professionals and the public can stay safe and healthy while using public parks and trails.
The Wolf Administration strongly encourages the suspension of large gatherings, events, conferences of more than 10 people, and per White House guidelines, ask that individuals and groups cancel any gatherings planned over the next eight weeks.
It is important to note that the issue of the safety of parks and their facilities related to COVID-19 is rapidly evolving.
Parks and recreation professionals should adhere to all guidelines and recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the Pennsylvania Department of Health for the most up-to-date information.
A guide for responding to COVID-19 in Pennsylvania is also available from the Commonwealth.
