Cumberland County Master Gardeners Host Gardening With Nature Feb. 18, Native Plant Fest May 16

The Penn State Extension Master Gardeners of Cumberland County will host two upcoming events for gardeners interested in including native plants in their gardening and sharpening their gardening skills.
Gardening With Nature Feb. 18
The Gardening with Nature series is back for an eighth year of informative workshops on creating a beautiful garden while preserving a healthy environment on February 18 at the Cleve J. Fredricksen Library, 100 N. 19th Street in Camp Hill from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m.
The program features a presentation by Penn State Master Gardener Catherine Scott on “I Enjoy Answering Gardening Questions.”
For novice gardeners, those contemplating gardening, or experienced gardeners looking to expand their gardening horizons, this program will provide answers to some of the most frequently asked gardening questions about insects, diseases, bloom times, and pruning.
All workshops in the series are $5.00 per class. Pre-registration is requested by the Monday prior to the workshop date. Walk-ins will be accepted if space is available.

Plant Fest & Sale May 16
Find great plants at great prices on May 16 at the 16th Annual Plant Fest and Sale hosted by the Penn State Extension Master Gardeners of Cumberland County.
The Master Gardeners will be offering great prices on native plants from area growers and treasured plants from their own gardens, as well as sun and shade perennials, pollinator-friendly plants, herbs, vegetables, groundcovers, shrubs, and small trees.
There will also be a gardener’s yard sale, educational resources about native plants and pollinators, ideas for gardening with children, a plant clinic to answer your garden questions, and local community organizations and vendors.
It will be held at the Cumberland County Service Center, 310 Allen Road in Carlisle. The plant sale runs from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., rain or shine.
It is easy to find, just off Exit 44 of I-81 on Allen Road (Rt. 465) across from the Sheetz, with plenty of parking available. Look for the big tents on the lawn next to the Cumberland County Service Center building, where the Penn State Extension office is located.
