The 2020 Eastern PA Greenways and Trails Summit will be held September 27-29 at The Hotel Anthracite in Carbondale, Lackawanna County.
Join the regional trails community for two days of inspiring speakers, breakout sessions and workshops at the Hotel Anthracite in historic Carbondale, Pennsylvania.
Located just fifteen miles northeast of Scranton, the ‘Pioneer City’ led the way to unearth the site of the First Deep Underground Coalmine in the United States, giving rise to the industry and economic force that has shaped our region for generations.
Carbondale is also the home of the 70-mile Lackawanna River Heritage Trail System’s newest section, which extends to meet with the Delaware and Hudson Rail Trail and the O&W Rail-Trail on their way towards the New York state border.
On September 27, guests will be welcomed into the Hotel Anthracite and given the chance to attend the Lackawanna Heritage Valley’s annual Heritage Explorer Bike Tour - an up to 40-mile family-friendly and noncompetitive bike ride along the trail system.
On September 28 and 29, trails enthusiasts will hear from speakers and attend tailored sessions and workshops that showcase the best practices, current trends and pressure points that have been on the minds of trail groups from our region and beyond.
