The Senate Republican Policy Committee will discuss conservative approaches to renewable energy during an October 22 workshop discussion in Harrisburg.
The workshop will provide statistics and opinions from various individuals and groups including the PA Conservative Energy Forum, the Coalition for Community Solar Access, Community Energy, the Appalachian Region Independent Power Producers, and former U.S. Secretary of the Navy John Lehman Jr.
“Pennsylvania is a national leader in energy production,” said Sen.David G. Argall (R-Schuylkill) Committee Chair. “While we should be proud that we are doing our part to provide energy to the country, we must also keep in mind that we have an obligation to our citizens to provide clean air and clean water. By diversifying our energy portfolio, we can strike that essential balance to provide for both our economic and environmental concerns.”
The workshop will be held in Room 461 of the Main Capitol from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. Committee meetings are typically webcast on the Committee’s webpage.
