The Department of Environmental Protection’s Northcentral Regional Office announced it will host an open house July 15 in Philipsburg, Centre County to provide vital information and resources to landowners and municipalities seeking to work in streams impacted by flooding and erosion.
Attendees can speak with staff about their stream work and flooding questions and receive informational materials from DEP, the Fish and Boat Commission, PennDOT, and the Centre County Conservation District.
The event is part of the DEP Connects regional public outreach program. The public is welcome, and municipal officials and streamside landowners are especially encouraged to attend.
Last year DEP released the booklet Guidelines for Maintaining Streams In Your Community to help landowners and local officials understand the DEP regulations that apply when working in Pennsylvania streams, especially those impacted by flooding and erosion.
The open house will be held at the DEP Moshannon District Office, 186 Enterprise Drive in Philipsburg from 5:00 to 6:30 p.m.
