The Department of Environmental Protection is now accepting applications for Alternative Fuel Vehicle Rebates. The deadline for applications is December 31. (formal notice)
Beginning July 1, the rebates offered will include--
-- $1,500 rebate for all battery electric vehicles (BEV) and hydrogen fuel cell vehicles (HFCV).
-- $1,000 rebate for all plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEV), electric motorcycles, natural gas vehicles and propane vehicles.
-- A final purchase price cap of $50,000 for all BEVs, PHEVs, natural gas and propane vehicles.
-- A final purchase price cap of $75,000 for all HFCVs.
-- 1,000 rebate for all used AFVs including one-time preowned and demonstration model vehicles:
-- One-time preowned AFVs with 75,000 miles or less with a true market value of $50,000 or less from a registered dealer.
-- Vehicles used by a registered dealer for demonstration purposes with a final purchase price of $50,000 or less with an odometer reading of greater than 500 and less than 10,000 miles.
-- An additional rebate of $1,000 will be available on all AFV types as well as new purchased/leased or used vehicles if the applicant meets the low-income requirement. That requirement remains at a household income that is below 200 percent of the Federal Income Poverty level.
Applications may only be submitted through the eGrants website.
