Wrapping up spring cleaning and wondering how to responsibly dispose of the many unwanted materials you’ve put aside?
Finding answers is as easy as contacting the DEP Recycling Hotline operated by the Pennsylvania Resources Council.
Call 1-800-346-4242 to quickly gain answers regarding how to responsibly recycle a wide range of materials not suitable for curbside pick up.
Last year, a team of PRC employees staffing the recycling hotline responded to 2,610 calls from residents living in 58 counties across the Commonwealth.
While many callers requested information regarding proper disposal of tires, polystyrene, mattresses and other hard-to-recycle materials, the three most common inquiries sought options for disposing of e-waste (televisions, computers, etc.), household chemicals (paints, automotive fluids, pesticides, etc.) and appliances.
Call the PA DEP Recycling Hotline at 1-800-346-4242 weekdays from 9 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. for recycling guidance. After-hours calls are returned the following business day.
