Vote Now For PA Entry! For Chesapeake Bay Foundation Viewers’ Choice Photo Contest Award

Voting is now underway for the 2019 Viewers’ Choice Award in the Chesapeake Bay Foundation Save The Bay Photo Contest.  The deadline for voting is 5:00 p.m. April 26.  All winners will be announced on May 6.
Of the 10 possible winners, one is from Pennsylvania-- Blue Heron On The Flats by Joseph Simons is a striking silhouette image of a heron flying over the Plymouth Flats along the Susquehanna River in Luzerne County.
Pennsylvania makes up more than one-third of the entire Chesapeake Bay Watershed, more than any other state. Over half of Pennsylvania’s land area-- 52 percent--  lies within the Bay Watershed in all or parts of 43 counties. The Susquehanna River provides 50 percent of the freshwater entering the Bay and the Pennsylvania portion of the Potomac River contributes an additional 2 percent.
