Enjoy the Fall weather and foliage in the Pocono Mountains with two outings hosted by the Pocono Heritage Land Trust in Monroe County--
-- October 14: Autumn Leaf Peeping On Long Pond - Guided Kayak/Canoe Paddle on Tunkhannock Creek and after paddle picnic. Long Pond wetlands is one of those magic places that keeps paddlers coming back time after time and is especially alive as the sights and sounds of autumn begin to transition in the Pocono landscape from the greens of summer through the fires of autumn to the whites of winter. -- October 21: Walk-n-Talk Wetland Trail Hike. Hikers will explore the autumn upland woods and wetlands edge on the Fern Ridge Trail and newly protected Weiss farm tract of the Tannersville Cranberry Bog Preserve.
Space on hikes is limited so reservations are required. Please call the PHLT office at 570-424-1514 or send email to: info@phlt.org to reserve your place.
Anyone interested in joining any of these hikes is encouraged to visit the website or call the office-- 570-424-1514-- for more information, confirmation of the hike status and last minute suggestions for footwear.
All hikes are open to the public and free of charge to Pocono Heritage Land Trust members. A $5 donation per person or $10 donation per family is suggested for non-members.
