DEP: Mosquito Spraying Set For Clinton County On Wednesday, October 3

The Department of Environmental Protection Tuesday announced it will conduct a mosquito control operation in Clinton County to reduce high populations of mosquitoes that cause West Nile Virus on October 3 in recreational and residential areas of Pine Creek Township and Avis Borough, Clinton County.
Truck-mounted, Ultra Low Volume (ULV) spray equipment will be utilized to spray Aqua-Duet, applied at a rate of .66 oz/acre. This product is designed to provide quick, effective control of adult mosquito populations.
Due to treatment technique and risk classification of the active ingredient, the application is not expected to have any impact on people or pets.
The control work will begin late in the evening, in areas of the listed municipalities where high populations of nuisance mosquitoes and those capable of transmitting West Nile Virus have been detected.
Weather conditions or other unexpected events could cause a delay or cancellation of the spray operation.
