Gifford Pinchot's Grey Towers Offers Mansion Tours, Lecture, Landscape Painting In July, Festival Of Wood Aug. 4-5

Gifford Pinchot’s Grey Towers National Historic Site in Milford, Pike County will offer mansion tours, a free lecture and landscape painting in July.
Was Gifford Pinchot moved by his spirituality as he was making groundbreaking progress in the American conservation movement?
On July 12 there will be a free outdoor inspirational painting program, Come Paint en Plein Air, on the estate grounds. Join this non-instructional program or observe the artists at work from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Call 570-775-6896 for details.
On July 21, a free lecture and discussion about the spiritual life of conservationist Gifford Pinchot, founder and first chief of the US Forest Service and two-term Pennsylvania Governor, is planned at 5:30 p.m. The program will be repeated on August 2.
Light refreshments offered by the Grey Towers Heritage Association will follow.  Reservations suggested by calling 570-296-9625 or send email to: info@greytowers.org.
Guided tours of the first floor of the 1886 mansion and the landscaped grounds are offered Thursdays through Mondays from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. On weekends, the last tour of the day (4 pm) brings visitors upstairs. Grey Towers is closed in observance of Independence Day on July 4.
Mark your calendars for the signature event of the year on August 4 and 5 for the 14th Annual Festival of Wood offers wood crafts, children’s activities, chainsaw carvings, educational exhibits, tree pruning demonstrations and much, much more. Click Here to download the Festival schedule.
