Recognizing that clean and abundant water is an important resource for human health, the ecosystem, and the economy, Capital RC&D and the South Mountain Partnership recently applied for an received a grant from the Chesapeake Bay Funders Network to coordinate a handful of educational workshops and trainings related to watershed health for 2018 and early 2019.
These events will support the work of watershed groups, municipalities, and other organizations working on water issues across Southcentral Pennsylvania-- Adams, Franklin, Cumberland, York, Lancaster and Dauphin counties in particular.
These organizations recently partnered with the PA Environmental Council, ALLARM, and the PA Organization for Watersheds and Rivers (POWR) to host a one-day workshop at Dickinson College in Carlisle to bring together dozens of watershed organizations, government agencies, and others in Southcentral PA to share success stories, learn about new resources, and gain insight on emerging technologies for watershed restoration and monitoring.
Building on the success of that workshop, and in order to make future events as beneficial as possible, Capital RC&D and the South Mountain Partnership are looking for input from potential attendees.
