Knox & Kane Rail Trail Forum June 15 In Marienville, Forest County

The PA Wilds Community Development Committee, Headwaters Charitable Trust and other partners will host the Knox & Kane Rail Trail Is A Reality... Now What? Forum on June 15 at the Marienville Area Civic Association Building, 149 Maca Drive, Marienville in Forest County starting at 8:00 a.m.
Opportunity Knox!  Through the combined efforts of Headwaters Charitable Trust and a number of municipalities, the nearly 75 mile Knox & Kane Railroad has been acquired for use as a non-motorized Trail.
The PA Wilds Community Development Committee is excited to bring an impressive group of experts in their field together for a forum to discuss the amazing opportunities this creates for the Pennsylvania Wilds and beyond.
The Knox & Kane Rail Trail represents a critical connection between the scenic Route 6 Corridor (Pa Bike Route “Y”) and the Great Allegheny Passageway. It creates opportunities for both business and recreation alike and is another major step on showcasing all the Pennsylvania Wilds and the Commonwealth have to offer.
The Forum will provide for a wide range of presentations covering health benefits and economic and community development opportunities.
Presentations explaining the vital connections between Rails to Trails and the PA Bike Route network will be discussed, enhancing the opportunities for more communities to benefit from the infrastructure roll out.
Funding opportunities for those interested in taking advantage of the infrastructure “explosion” will be covered in what is sure to be a lively panel presentation ranging from local foundations to statewide public and private resources.
The Forum provides valuable information not just for PA Wilds communities, but anybody interested in learning how the concepts apply throughout Pennsylvania.
