The Brandywine Conservancy and its partners will host a one-day conference May 3 on Bi-State Solution To Protecting Clean Water in the Brandywine-Christina Watershed in Pennsylvania and Delaware at the Mendenhall Inn, Route 52, Mendenhall, Chester County from 8:30 to 4:30.
As one of the most historic small watersheds in the nation, the Brandywine-Christina supplies drinking water to over a half million people in Delaware and Pennsylvania and supports $1.6 billion in annual economic activity and over 100,000 jobs.
The Conference will include highlights from the newly released Brandywine-Christina State of the Watershed Report and showcase projects implemented by partners throughout the watershed.
Following lunch the Conference attendees are invited to attend a field tour to have a first-hand view of innovative agriculture practices and discuss water supply options and strategies for protecting source water in the watershed.
The day will wrap up back at the Mendenhall Inn with a reception and networking event.
National and regional experts, Delaware and Pennsylvania legislators and dignitaries, and watershed stakeholders are encouraged to attend.
Other sponsoring organizations include the Brandywine Red Clay Alliance, Natural Lands, The Nature Conservancy-PA, Stroud Water Research Center and the University of Delaware.
