DEP Holds Informal Public Conference On Noncoal Mining Permit Sept. 6 In Bradford County

The Department of Environmental Protection announced Tuesday it will hold an informal public conference to discuss the Large Noncoal (Industrial Minerals) Mine Permit application submitted by Austin’s Excavating & Paving, Inc., for a proposed sand and gravel mine located in Athens Township, Bradford County on September 6.
The event will be held from 6:30 p.m. at the Athens Township Municipal Building, 45 Herrick Avenue in Sayre. DEP and the applicant will discuss the permit application and accept comment from the public.
Those wishing to speak should register onsite. Comments are limited to five minutes per person.  
Written comments of any length may also be provided to David Bisko, Chief, Technical Services Section, via email at dbisko@pa.gov, or via mail at 186 Enterprise Drive, Philipsburg, PA 16866 no later September 20, 2017.  
A copy of the permit application is available for review at the Bradford County Conservation District office at 200 Lake Road, Suite E, Towanda, PA 18848 during their normal business hours. Contact the Bradford County Conservation District at 570-485-3144 to make arrangements.
