A variety of arts programs are offered in June at Grey Towers National Historic Site in Milford, Pike County, as a way to honor the contributions made by the philanthropic Pinchot family to arts and conservation.
These different programs offer something for everyone--
-- June 10: A demonstration of the lost art of lacemaking, from 1-4 p.m. Mary Pinchot was a collector of handmade lace; some of her collection is at the Smithsonian, some will be exhibited at Grey Towers during the program;
-- June 17: Poetry in Nature instructional workshop, from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. Gain inspiration from the landscaped grounds, learn technique from Jeffrey Stocker, Director of the American Readers Theater, and share your writings with others. -- June 17: Kindred Spirits outdoor concert, the London Trio, flute, cello and violin, combines the aesthetics of classical music with the natural setting at Grey Towers, much the same as the family did 100 years ago. 570-409-1269 or Click Here for ticket info;
-- June 24: Moveable Feast Walking Tour illustrates a unique part of Milford's history and will have participants munching their way through the borough. Pre-registration/payment is required and limited to the first 25 paid participants. Call 570-296-9625 or Click Here to register online.
-- June 29: Come Paint With Me, kicks off its 20th season with a talk, exhibit and light refreshments before artists take to the landscaped grounds for inspiration and creativity. This non-instructional program is free and open to the public. 9:30 a.m. at the Visitor Pavilion.

Open Thursdays through Mondays, guided tours of the 1886-mansion and grounds are offered on the hour from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The 4 pm tour on weekends brings visitors to the upper floors. No public tours are given on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, but the grounds are open and visitor films are shown, free of charge.
