5 Women To Receive 2017 Women In Conservation Awards On April 7

PennFuture and the National Wildlife Federation will celebrate the careers and accomplishments of five Pennsylvania women who work in conservation with Women in Conservation Awards.
These awards honor women in Pennsylvania whose careers in business, government, community service, advocacy, or education have led to identifiable benefits for the environment and the conservation movement.
This year, these awards shine a spotlight on conservation in Northeast Pennsylvania, including the North Branch Susquehanna River Watershed and the greater Pennsylvania Delaware River Watershed region.
2017 Women in Conservation Awardees are:
-- Woman of the Delaware River Watershed Award: Sue Currier, Former Executive Director of Delaware Highlands Conservancy.
-- Woman of the Susquehanna River Watershed: Amy Wolfe, Director for Trout Unlimited’s Eastern Abandoned Mine Program and PA Coldwater Habitat Restoration Program.
-- Woman of Sustainable Energy and Conservation Award: Katharine Dodge, Board Member of SEEDS (Sustainable Energy Education and Development Support) of Honesdale.
-- Women of Community Engagement and Environmental Education Partnership Awards​: Angela Lambert, DCNR Environmental Educator at Lackawanna State Park & Diane Madl, DCNR Environmental Educator at Nescopeck State Park.
-- Woman with Lifetime Achievement in Conservation Award: Edie Stevens, Board Member for Brodhead Watershed Association. (Photo)
The awards will be presented on April 7 at the 3rd Annual Celebrating Women In Conservation Awards at Keystone College, Evans Hall, in La Plume, Lackawanna County starting at 6:30.
