The Chesapeake Bay Foundation-PA is urging all Pennsylvania residents to contact their state House and Senate members to urge them to invest in clean water.
All Pennsylvanians have a right, guaranteed by the state’s constitution, to safe, healthy water.
Now is the time to raise your voices to make it loud and clear to your elected officials that we need more acres of streamside trees, fewer cattle in streams, safer drinking water, and healthier soils.
But these things can only happen if the state increases its investment in clean water.
Roughly 19,000 miles of Pennsylvania’s rivers and streams are damaged by pollution, putting human health at risk and damaging local economies.
But the state’s investments in clean water continue to be inadequate! The Keystone State lags significantly behind in reaching its clean water goals.
Before budget hearings begin in Harrisburg on DEP and DCNR’s budget request February 21, urge state legislators to commit to greater investments in saving local rivers and streams and finding additional support so the Commonwealth can provide the clean water that is the right of every Pennsylvanian.
