The Penn State Extension Water Quality Team will host a webinar on January 25 on Green Parking Lot Zoning And Design from Noon to 1:00 p.m.
Dave Skellie will discuss how he helped Millcreek Township, Erie County, adopted amendments to their zoning regulations that will now require 7 percent of new or reconstructed parking lots be vegetated - even lots smaller than one-half acre.
Skellie will also discuss how green parking lots also create an economic win; recent studies find a 12 percent higher income streams on tree-scaped streets and parking lots.
Tavis Dockwiller will explore the technical and aesthetics side of green parking lot design as she discusses examples of how attractive green stormwater management might be incorporated within parking areas for a variety of benefits.
