Keep Pennsylvania Beautiful and their affiliates; Keep Erie County Beautiful, Keep Philadelphia Beautiful, Westmoreland Cleanways and Recycling, Keep York Beautiful and Chester Environmental Partnership currently in process of forming a local affiliate, attended the Keep America Beautiful National Conference in Washington D.C. this week.
The Conference is Keep America Beautiful's premier educational and networking event, bringing together KAB’s national network of state and local affiliate directors, business leaders, policymakers and other national experts who focus on framing new ideas and strategies to build and sustain vibrant communities.
"We believe that the best solutions are discovered when grassroots organizations like ours help bring together citizens, government and industry to work together for the greater good,” said Becky Lyons, chief operating officer, Keep America Beautiful.
The theme of Keep America Beautiful's 2017 National Conference, borrowed from the Great Seal of the United States of America - 'E Pluribus Unum…Out of Many, One' - represents the collective impact of the Keep America Beautiful Affiliate Network.
The Conference also highlighted the award-winning work of Keep America Beautiful affiliates, partnering organizations, and community leaders and volunteers from across the U.S.
“It is inspiring to meet with our colleagues from Pennsylvania and across the nation to share programs, initiatives and efforts as we all work toward the same goal of creating more socially connected, environmentally healthy and economically sound communities,” said Shannon Reiter, President of Keep PA Beautiful. “We are grateful for the opportunity.”
