Auditor General Eugene DePasquale announces the results of his audit of the Public Utility Commission’s collection and distribution and county spending of the Act 13 drilling impact fees at 11 a.m. TODAY in the Media Center in the East Wing of the Capitol.

Over four years the PUC collected more than $856 million in unconventional shale gas well impact fees provided for in Act 13 of 2012.
Thirty-seven counties and 1,487 local municipalities received $428 million to alleviate the negative local effects of natural gas drilling.
Auditors reviewed how the funds are distributed and how local municipalities spent the money.
