DEP Invites Comments On Changes To Emergency Mine Reclamation Plan

The Department of Environmental Protection published notice in the October 15 PA Bulletin inviting comments on proposed amendments to the state’s Emergency Mine Reclamation Plan.
The Emergency Plan describes how Pennsylvania will coordinate emergency mine reclamation work like stabilizing mine subsidence affected areas, mine fires damaging property, landslides, open mine shafts or portals and similar emergency issues with the federal Office of Surface Mining Reclamation and Enforcement and other agencies.
Comments are due November 14.  Click Here to view of copy of the proposed changes.
Comments submitted by facsimile will not be accepted. Comments, including comments submitted by email, must include the originator's name and address. Commentators are encouraged to submit comments using the Department's online eComment for Policies webpage.
