Delaware Estuary Pennsylvania Coast Day Sept. 10 In Philadelphia

The Partnership for the Delaware Estuary will hold the 2016 Pennsylvania Coast Day on September 10 at the Walnut Plaza on Penn’s Landing in Philadelphia.
“The great thing about Pennsylvania Coast Day is the way it transforms people,” said Lisa Wool, outreach programs director at the Partnership for the Delaware Estuary. “It’s funny how 15 minutes on the river or in a lab can shape someone’s opinion about the environment — for life.”
Visitors to PA Coast Day will enjoy, at no cost--
-- Free boat rides and tours
-- Free rowboating and swan pedal boating
-- Free t-shirts, prizes, face painting, arts and crafts
-- Hands-on activities and exhibits
-- Enthusiasts racing their model boats
Visitors can even ride a free, round-trip shuttle to the Fairmount Water Works. Here they can enjoy--
-- Live freshwater mussel demonstrations
-- Tours of the historic Fairmount Water Works and Schuylkill River
-- Come early for the Philly Fun Fishing Fest, from 7 to 11 a.m.
Sponsors for Pennsylvania Coast Day include the DEP Coastal Resources Management Program, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, Philadelphia Water Department, Delaware River Waterfront Corporation, Fairmount Water Works, and Independence Seaport Museum.
There’s still time to be an exhibitor.  Contact Michelle Hoover for information  by sending email to: mhoover@delawareestuary.org or call 800-445-4935 ext. 112.
