Department of Conservation and Natural Resources Secretary Cindy Adams Dunn Tuesday announced officials will hold a community meeting Wednesday, April 27 in Dingmans Ferry, Pike County to provide information and answer questions about the Sixteen Mile Fire in Monroe and Pike counties that has burned over 8,000 acres.
The public is invited to attend the meeting that will be held starting at 7:30 p.m. at the East Stroudsburg High School North, 279 Timberwolf Drive, Dingmans Ferry.
Officials will provide an update on efforts to fight the fire, now estimated at 8,030 acres, as well as how the impacted forested areas will be managed in the future.
Fire crews continue to scout, improve and hold containment lines. They will begin the process of eliminating fuels once the lines are complete.
