The Stroud Water Research Center and the ClearWater Conservancy are hosting a webinar January 28 starting at 3:00 p.m. on Improving Long-Term Success Of Riparian Forest Stream Buffers.
Join David Wise of Stroud and Katie Ombalski of ClearWater Conservancy who will share with you their practical advice and lessons learned from working in the field and with scientific data to improve success in riparian forest buffer establishment and maintenance.
David will focus on methods including insights from Stroud’s latest research on methods. Katie will focus on ClearWater’s successful model for using limited paid staff to engage volunteers on the critical post-planting care that is make or break for buffers.
David Wise is an environmental scientist who has worked with farmers and private landowners on watershed restoration for over 15 years, first as a Watershed Restoration Program Biologist for the Chesapeake Bay Foundation and now as Watershed Restoration Manager for Stroud.
Katie Ombalski is also an environmental scientist. She has worked for over 15 years managing ClearWater Conservancy’s conservation and restoration strategy development and implementation. Prior to ClearWater, Katie was a field researcher for U.S. Forest Service, Game Commission, Penn State University and North Carolina State University.
This webinar is the fourth in the BEES program and the first of 2016. The BEES is provided by support from the USDA Farm Service Agency, USDA Forest Service, Alliance for the Chesapeake Bay and Conservation Strategies, LLC.
