C.O.G.E.N.T., the Connection for Oil, Gas and Environment In The Northern Tier, summarized its actions on major regulatory and other issues in 2015 in a recent blog post. Among other actions, C.O.G.E.N.T.--
-- Commented to DEP on implementation of the EPA Clean Power Climate Plan, DEP’s Chapter 78 regulations and the draft report of the DEP Pipeline Infrastructure Task Force;
-- Emily Krafjack, President of C.O.G.E.N.T., was named to the Pipeline Infrastructure Task Force Pipeline Safety Work Group and became a non-voting member of the DEP Oil and Gas Technical Advisory Board;
-- Submitted comments to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency on proposed methane emission regulations covering the oil and gas industry;
-- Promoted the introduction of Senate Bill 1044 (Baker-R-Luzerne) to bring Class 1 unconventional natural gas gathering pipelines under state regulation; and
-- C.O.G.E.N.T. provided first responders in the region with pipelines emergencies training.
