NRCS PA Technical Committee Meeting Oct. 22 In Lebanon

The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Natural Resources Conservation Service will host the Pennsylvania State Technical Committee meeting on October 22 in Lebanon, Pennsylvania.
More than a dozen Pennsylvania federal, state and local agencies make up the committee, which provides recommendations to NRCS on the implementation of the natural resources conservation provisions of the federal Farm Bill.
Meetings are held quarterly to discuss the conservation of soil, water, air, plants, wetlands, wildlife and agriculture. October's meeting will include a panel discussion of High Path Avian Influenza (HPAI), an overview of vegetative environmental buffers for poultry, a updates on fiscal year 2016 Farm Bill programs,
“The State Technical Committee meetings provide an opportunity for people and conservation groups across the state to collaborate on positive solutions,” says Denise Coleman, NRCS State Conservationist. “Many of the attendees are partners in mutual projects, programs and outreach efforts. The meetings also serve as a platform for sharing experiences to better serve Pennsylvania’s natural resource needs.”
