The Department of Conservation and Natural Resources is accepting nominations for six open positions on the 2016 PA Trails Advisory Committee, DCNR Secretary Cindy Adams Dunn announced. Nominations are due by November 6.
The advisory committee is charged with implementing recommendations of the Statewide Comprehensive Outdoor Recreation Plan to develop a statewide land and water trail network to facilitate recreation, transportation, and healthy lifestyles.
The 20-member DCNR-appointed committee represents both motorized and nonmotorized trail users and advises the Commonwealth on the use of state and federal trail funding.
“Pennsylvania has a wealth of incredible trails for all outdoors pursuits and we are hoping to tap that pool of trail supporters who keep Pennsylvania at the forefront of quality trail activities,” Dunn said. “We are seek solid representations of these interests as we form the new Pennsylvania Trails Advisory Committee for the coming year.”
DCNR is accepting nominations for six open positions on the committee representing the following user groups: bicycling; trail builders; off-highway motorcycling; hiking, and member-at-large (2). Members will serve for three years starting January 1, 2016.
