Today until 8 p.m. you have the opportunity to make a real difference in the future of the our privately-owned forested lands by making a donation to the Foundation for Sustainable Forests through the Erie Gives Day campaign.
And your donation today will be matched on a prorated basis from the Erie Gives Fund.
This year the Foundation is dedicating every dollar above what was raised in the 2014 campaign to Project Outreach, a pilot program to directly contact and work with every private forest landowner in Erie, Crawford, Warren and Venango counties.
The contact will focus on improving forest management and on having the landowner look to the future and the legacy they can leave and the conservation options available to them to see the land protected in perpetuity.
The Foundation for Sustainable Forests has a proven track record of success in working with woodland owners. The more landowners the Foundation can reach, the more woodland that will be protected.
It is important to note you do not have to be from or in the Erie area to donate, enabling our supporters everywhere to participate.
