Senate, Governor Owe Appointments To DEP Climate Change Advisory Committee

There are three vacancies on DEP’s Climate Change Advisory Committee whose members are appointed by the Majority and Minority Leaders in the Senate and House and by the Governor.
Vacancies need to be filled by the Senate Majority Leader Jake Corman (R-Centre), Senate Minority Leader Jay Costa (D-Allegheny) and by Gov. Tom Wolf.
The Climate Change Advisory Committee was created by the PA Climate Change Act of 2008 (Act 70).
The role of the Committee is to advise the Department regarding the implementation of the provisions of the Act, including but not limited to, the development of a climate change action plan, annual greenhouse gas emission inventories, climate change impacts assessment report, voluntary greenhouse gas emissions registry and such other climate change related activities that the DEP might request.
